W.B. Yeats Grave at Drumcliff Cemetery
This graveyard was chosen by Irish poet William Butler Yeats as his final resting place, "Under bare Ben Bulben's head, In Drumcliff churchyard Yeats is laid...". The poem ends with the lines containing his instructions:
No marble, no conventional phrase; On limestone quarried near the spot By his command these words are cut: Cast a cold eye On life, on death. Horseman, pass by!
The site also contains a High Cross from the 9th century and the ruin of a round tower from the 10th or 11th century.
